First stab at the website’s content

Published: Category:Developer BlogWritten by: GM Jack

the site, in its entirety, is a perpetual work in progress

but right now, especially, the content and the details laid out are neither finished nor committed. Anything specific to the beta rollout will be presented clearly and made accessible long before anyone is truly able to set up their home in Samhan.

Priority #1 was getting some semblance of a web presence up so that we are able to post our game on the IGDB, and provide a cleaner experience for sharing the game outside of our tester discord.

Priority #2 was enabling in-client account creation (THANK YOU ENIGMA!) and now that it is complete anyone can jump in and try out the playtest #2’s content, a level 1-15 taste of all four paths (warrior, rogue, mage and scholar) and a sample dungeon.

Theres also a fairly decent overworld to explore, and if you check out the Seasong map guide you will have a better idea of how to see what maps are currently live and in-use within Qi’an. The next big map push will include the tutorial, Haebang city/interiors, riverland vale, as well as a swack of new dungeons to expand the hunting content out to level 50.

Priority #3 is the fun one: transforming this combat playtest into a fully rounded experience. Our team is confident that the server and client are optimized and ready to support the entire scope of the game’s content such as subpaths, clans, minigames, crafting, questlines, leaderboards, as well as the refined GUI content like minimaps.

uhh... TLDRwhat?

top points from this post to remember:

#1) the website is a WIP. the lore related content is pretty solid however the beta planning is very much up in the air. don’t hold onto the specifics too seriously at this stage

#2) the game itself now can support open registration, create your own account, build a character and give the playtest #2 hunting content a shot.

#3) The next big playtest we run will not be a playtest at all, but a full working prototype of all the systems we believe is essential to creating a fully rounded game that keeps you logging in every day

#4) We will be adding more and more in-game content in the form of a gallery, but for now I’ll likely just plug those videos, gifs and big milestones via this blog and group by content type until we’re caught up.

Thanks for reading!

Jack
