the realm of samhan is perpetually evolving, growing and introducing new features that make it feel just like home for its defenders
we are currently developing the following features for the next release, officially transitioning from playtest into a fully rounded gameplay experience:
in-client account creation
the ability to customize your account (and characters within) as well as manage its features, review account-wide unlocks, track achievements and more
expanded cavesets
defenders unlock a chain of dungeons, caves and combat zones based on their performance, exploring more of the region of Qi’an as they earn experience, grow in insight and further master the skills and abilities taught to them
living townspeople
a defender is only as strong as the allies they keep. as a newcomer in town building a reputation is the key to succeeding, be it in the spotlight or the shadows. immersing into the bustling life of the local population of each city provides rewards, opportunities and forges bonds that define their path going forward
forging lasting community
clans exist as a way for bloodlines to reconnect (also for new family names to be forged), and to collaborate for shared goals, power and opportunity.
subpaths are founded as a way for every bloodline to unite under their path to further refine and enhance their influence over and mastery of the elements.
sport & excellence
what is glory without competition, and fairness is the key to good sport. the seasong stadium will bustle with life as spectacles of tactics and athleticism challenge the wits and will of the defenders of samhan
a defenders experience and statistics are only two of the important metrics that are used to measure excellence, with more that allow for unexpected heroes to rise from ashes and unlikely adversaries dominate a neutral field of combat to prove who is truly worthy of the creed of the defenders
circular economy
gold makes dreams come true and in the realm of samhan there is countless means to make an honest (or dishonest) fortune. there is no single golden route to dominating the free market
traditional trades in carpentry provide lumberjack and woodmilling opportunities, along with mining and quarrying feeds the masonry craft. farmers that cultivate crops will grocer to chefs or become one themselves. those mystified by the unexplained power of the natural world will find wonder and fortune in the scientific craft of elemancy
patrons foster growth
patrons are not merely consumers of services but active contributors to the world’s growth and well-being. This is designed to influence and uplift the game’s world and its inhabitants, fostering a community where all benefit from collective efforts

PLAYTEST 2
05/24/24 – CURRENT VERSION
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD- this playtest solely focused on demonstrating level 5-15 for each of the four paths (warrior, rogue, mage, scholar)
- players land directly infront of the designated playtest cave, advance to level 5 by clicking the merchant then select a path, equip their gear and learn their base kit of spells
- they begin a questline that guides them through the mobs and drops of the cave, ultimately ending at level 15. players return to path masters periodically to learn new spells as they advance
- the final result is a randomly generated glamour weapon as a prize and an invitation to repeat the quest tribute steps. the player is now strong enough to navigate the wider world beyond the playtest cave, no mob they encounter is tuned for higher than level 15 players
PLAYTEST 1
12/29/23 – 01/07/24
- this playtest solely focused on the fundamental capacity of both client and server
- the testers completed a walking-intensive questline and tested mob pathing while completing a level 1-5 town orientation
- fundamentals of the hotkey system, banking and buy/sell vendering were tested rigorously, as well as grouping, exchanging, dropping items and gold stacks, receiving mob drops, mob damage balancing, spell balancing, fundamentals for a need/greed boss drop system and other features were rigorously stress tested
- an extensive body of feedback provided by each tester informed the development team of both where improvements were necessary, the testers instincts of missing features guided the scope of development for the next playtest
- the following quarter was spent bolstering the successes in playtest1 and resolving any systems that performed unsatisfactorily
