we are currently developing the following features for the next release, officially transitioning from playtest into a fully rounded gameplay experience:

This milestone marks the dawn of a new era—when the sands of time begin to chronicle our collective journey. The sun rises over Samhan, calling its founding Defenders to return home and forge their legacy. With their return, the libraries awaken, filling with epic tales—some chronicled by the realm itself, others etched through the Defenders’ own triumphs and demonstrated excellence.

The following highlights showcase the fruits of a busy summer and autumn, with constant updates on the horizon. Together, we shape the future of Samhan, each Defender leaving an indelible mark on its unfolding story.

PLAYTEST 2

05/24/24 – 12/29/24

  • this playtest solely focused on demonstrating level 5-15 for each of the four paths (warrior, rogue, mage, scholar)
  • players land directly infront of the designated playtest cave, advance to level 5 by clicking the merchant then select a path, equip their gear and learn their base kit of spells
  • they begin a questline that guides them through the mobs and drops of the cave, ultimately ending at level 15. players return to path masters periodically to learn new spells as they advance
  • the final result is a randomly generated glamour weapon as a prize and an invitation to repeat the quest tribute steps. the player is now strong enough to navigate the wider world beyond the playtest cave, no mob they encounter is tuned for higher than level 15 players

PLAYTEST 1

12/29/23 – 01/07/24

  • this playtest solely focused on the fundamental capacity of both client and server
  • the testers completed a walking-intensive questline and tested mob pathing while completing a level 1-5 town orientation
  • fundamentals of the hotkey system, banking and buy/sell vendering were tested rigorously, as well as grouping, exchanging, dropping items and gold stacks, receiving mob drops, mob damage balancing, spell balancing, fundamentals for a need/greed boss drop system and other features were rigorously stress tested
  • an extensive body of feedback provided by each tester informed the development team of both where improvements were necessary, the testers instincts of missing features guided the scope of development for the next playtest
  • the following quarter was spent bolstering the successes in playtest1 and resolving any systems that performed unsatisfactorily
